Boyne City's July 4th Celebration

July 3rd-4th, 2024 (Tentative)

Family fun with music, food, fireworks–even a duck race! Begin the day with a run along Lake Charlevoix and end it with fireworks with food, fun, and more in between!

Here's the typical schedule for the event:

Both Days

  • 4:30-6:30pm – Live Radio Remote with Lite 96.3 at Sunset Park- 8 S. Lake St., Boyne City.
  • 6-9pm – Stroll the Streets: Ten bands, face painting, balloon twisting, magician and more.

Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 (Tentative)

  • 10am-5pm – Annual Waterside Art & Craft Fair + Food Trucks at Veteran’s Memorial Park- 207 N. Lake St., Boyne City. For an application, visit boyne4thofjuly.com.
  • 10am-6pm – Bounce Houses, Rock Wall, and Water Slides: $15 Bracelets. Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 12-1:30pm – Patriotic Boat Parade. Line up at 12pm at Boyne City Marina- 20 State St. Boat two loops around Lake Charlevoix and end with a sand bar party at Young State Park- 2280 Boyne City-Charlevoix Rd.
  • 1-3pm – Boyne City All Class Reunion at Veterans Memorial Park Pavilion.
  • 4-6pm – Packet Pick-up for Annual Independence Day Run at Peninsula Park- 310 Front St. Register online at boyne4thofjuly.com.
  • 7pm – Tommy Tropic, World Famous Juggler performs at Sunset Park- 8 S. Lake St.

Thursday, July 4th, 2024 (Tentative)

  • 6:30-7:15am – Packet Pick-up ​for Annual Independence Day Run at Peninsula Park
  • 7-10am – Independence Day Breakfast: ​$12 for Adults, $8 for Children 12 & Under. FOE Eagles Hall- 106 River St.
  • 7:30am – Annual Independence Day Run: 10K and Two Mile FUN Run along beautiful Lake Charlevoix. Race starts and ends at Peninsula Park.
  • 8:30am – Parade Registration & Line Up at Intersection of Franklin and Park Streets.
  • 9-9:30am – Kids’ Bike & Costume Parade Lineup: Judging is at 9:30am sharp. First through Third Place Ribbons awarded for ages 8 and under and 9-14. All participants receive a free ice cream coupon from Boyne City McDonald’s. Early Education Building Playground on the corner of Main and Park Streets.
  • 9am-12pm – Boyne Valley Garden Club Pie Sale. Assorted whole pies for $20. Veteran’s Memorial Park Pavilion.
  • 9am-5pm – Bounce Houses, Rock Wall, and Water Slides: $15 Bracelets. Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 9:30am – Pre-Parade Entertainment
  • 9:55am – National Anthem at Lake Street in front of Log Cabin
  • 10am Grand Parade, Downtown.
  • 10am-5pm – Annual Waterside Art & Craft Fair + Food Trucks at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 10am-5pm – United State Marine Corps. Tent + Activities at Sunset Park.
  • 11am-1pm – Boyne City Rotary “World Famous Chicken BBQ”: $15 for half a chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, roll, and a beverage. Veteran’s Memorial Park Pavilion.
  • 12:30pm – Kiwanis/Family Fair Kids Pie Eating Contest at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 12:30-2:30pm – Old Fashioned Children’s Games sponsored by Kiwanis of Boyne City at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 1pm – Horton Bay Parade..
  • 1-7pm – Live Music at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
  • 2pm – Boyne Area Chamber’s Annual Duck Race. Chances to win two $500 prizes, one $250 prize, one $100 prize, and seven $50 prizes. Purchase $10 tickets at the Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce. Race is on Boyne River.
  • 2:30-3pm – Commemorative Raft Race: Rafts should check-in by 2pm at Riverside Park- 700 Spring St.
  • 10:30pm – Grand Fireworks over Lake Charlevoix​
